Ballet International Africans

AUDITIONS FOR Ballet International Africans (BIA) AND AMINAIZM WILL TAKE PLACE ON
SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2007, Sunday
AT THE CHARLES MOORE DANCE THEATER
FROM 3PM TO 5PM.
THE STUDIO WILL BE THE INTIMATE ROOM ON THE SECOND FLOOR AND THE ADDRESS IS 397 Bridge St.
(In the Fulton mall area) Brooklyn, NY 11201
There is a $5 fee for auditioning for each group. BIA auditions are from 3pm to 4pm and AMINAIZM auditions are from 4pm to 5pm. Both audition classes are a $10 fee.
BIA shows are paid. Rehearsals are once a week and are not paid. AMINAIZM is an emerging group with many showcases lined up, but no paid gigs, as of now. Paid shows, eventually.
This audition is for African dancers, drummers, and modern/contemporary dancers. Please bring comfortable clothing, barefeet required, a pen, and a pic (not professional/ any pic will do), resume and bio not required.
African Dancers should be prepared to take an advanced class about 45 minutes in length of African choreography. Drummers should be prepared to play accompaniment for the audition with two drummers from BIA. Experience not necessary, but some natural talent is.
Contemporary/ Modern/Liturgical Dancers should be prepared to take an intermediate class of about 45 minutes in length based on choreography from AMINAIZM’s repertoire. Some experience in modern dance necessary.
Both auditions may require a freestyle or improv dance/ drum at end of 45 minutes, so be prepared, just in case.

Dancers selected will be notified that following week, if not the next day. We are not ones to keep you in suspense and can usually tell if we are interested in a dancer or musician from the start.
